Recipient of Luke's Gospel • Life of Jesus
Theophilus was the person to whom Luke addressed his orderly account of the life and ministry of Jesus. Luke wrote so that Theophilus could know the certainty of the things he had been taught. The same name appears as the recipient of Acts.
