Pharisee and Member of the Jewish Ruling Council • Life of Jesus
Nicodemus was a Pharisee and Jewish ruler who came to Jesus at night to discuss the new birth and the kingdom of God. He later urged his fellow leaders to judge Jesus according to the law and, after the crucifixion, joined Joseph of Arimathea in preparing Jesus' body for burial with spices.
