Martha was the sister of Mary and Lazarus and a friend and follower of Jesus. Luke records her welcoming Jesus into her home and becoming occupied with serving while Mary listened to Him. John presents Martha at the death of Lazarus, where she confessed her faith that Jesus is the Messiah and the Son of God.
