Disciple at Damascus • Early Church
Ananias was a disciple living in Damascus whom the Lord instructed in a vision to visit Saul after Saul's encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus. Although initially afraid because of Saul's reputation as a persecutor, Ananias obeyed. He laid hands on Saul, restored his sight, announced God's calling upon him, and was involved in his baptism.
