Tanner of Joppa • Early Church
Simon was a tanner who lived by the sea in Joppa. Peter stayed at his house after the raising of Tabitha and remained there when messengers from Cornelius arrived. Peter's vision concerning clean and unclean animals also occurred while he was staying at Simon's home.
