Returnees from Exile

Jewish Exiles who returned from Babylon • Post-Exilic Period

The Returnees from Exile were the Jewish people who returned to Jerusalem and Judah after the Babylonian captivity under the decree of Cyrus the Great. Led by Zerubbabel and Joshua the high priest, they rebuilt the altar, restored temple worship, and eventually completed the Second Temple.
