Roman Governor of Judea • Early Church
Porcius Festus succeeded Felix as Roman governor of Judea while Paul remained imprisoned at Caesarea. Festus heard renewed accusations against Paul and offered him the possibility of standing trial in Jerusalem. Paul instead appealed to Caesar. Festus later discussed Paul's case with King Agrippa II and Bernice and arranged for Paul to present his defense before them.
