Philemon was a beloved fellow worker of Paul and the recipient of Paul's personal letter concerning Onesimus. A church met in his house. Paul appealed to Philemon on the basis of Christian love to receive Onesimus as a beloved brother and expressed confidence that Philemon would respond faithfully.
