One of the Seventy Elders • Wilderness Wanderings
Eldad was one of the seventy elders chosen by God to help Moses lead Israel. Although he remained in the camp instead of gathering at the Tent of Meeting, the Spirit of the Lord rested upon him, and he prophesied. When Joshua asked Moses to stop Eldad and Medad from prophesying, Moses instead expressed his desire that all of the Lord's people would receive His Spirit.
