Silversmith of Ephesus • Early Church
Demetrius was an Ephesian silversmith who made silver shrines of Artemis and provided significant business for local craftsmen. Concerned that Paul's preaching threatened both their trade and the reputation of the temple of Artemis, Demetrius stirred the craftsmen and the city into an uproar.
