Claudius was Roman emperor during part of the period recorded in Acts. Agabus foretold a great famine that Acts states occurred during the reign of Claudius. Later, Claudius ordered the Jews to leave Rome, an action that brought Aquila and Priscilla to Corinth, where they met Paul.
