King of Aram (Damascus) • Divided Kingdom
Ben-Hadad II was king of Aram during the reigns of Ahab and Jehoram of Israel. He fought several wars against Israel but was defeated by Ahab. Later he besieged Samaria until the prophet Elisha foretold relief. Ben-Hadad was eventually assassinated by his servant Hazael.
